Community Engagement Internship

*aCCEPTING APPLICATIONS ON A ROLLING BASIS*

The Community Engagement Intern will play a role in CfJJ’s outreach to youth, parent organizers, community-based and grassroots organizations to engage individuals passionate about youth justice reform. The intern will also assist in the organization's aim to support local action movements to advocate and improve policy that impacts youth by providing information and training sessions on state/federal laws, legal rights, pending legislation, and policies of state child serving agencies, and creating pathways for organizations to become more involved with policy campaigns, statewide legislation, and the Massachusetts Coalition for Juvenile Justice Reform.

Examples of internship tasks:

  • Track local/grassroots advocacy movements

  • Research and conduct outreach to youth organizers, parent organizers, community-based and grassroots organizations to identify potential partnership opportunities

  • Customize CfJJ’s information and training session materials to the needs of each group

Anticipated skill sets:

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Strong research, communication, and relationship-building skills

  • Experience working with young people and community-based organizations preferred
