For the past year, Citizens for Juvenile Justice has been developing a community-driven Diversion Network using community input, local data, and research to collectively create a vision for a pre-arraignment diversion system that keeps young people out of court, building on the findings in our Less Crime for Less Money report.
On September 16th, individuals most impacted by the justice system - young people, their families and their communities - came together to collectively design alternatives to justice system involvement. We shared the findings from our research and brought together working groups to create the vision for more effective solutions to the problem of unnecessary court processing and detention.
